Volunteer Requests: 5/8

Hi Everyone,

Below is a list of 4(!) fantastic volunteer opportunities that we would like our volunteers to fulfill if they can, especially if you have not been matched with a neighbor yet or haven't been connected to another program yet. Do not feel like you need to do all of them, but please do at least one that suits your capacity and interest. Don't hesitate to ask the contact or us a question.

1)TIME SENSITIVE:Volunteers needed to help Out For Justice, Inc. move furniture on TOMORROW, SATURDAY 5/9! 12 women who are being decarcerated will move into a house furnished with beds, dressers, tables, etc. from Baltimore Furniture Bank. They need help loading furniture into a truck near Belvedere Square at 4 p.m. OR unload furniture into a house near Mondawmin at 4:45 p.m.Social distancing and gloves/masks will be practiced. Please email at melissabadeker@gmail.com if you are interested.

2)Red Shed Village: is trying to figure out food for a homeless camp of 5 people at RedShedVillage of 2023 Saint Paul Street, for Sunday and onward. They are requesting cooked meals. The folks there have no dietary restrictions and in the past people have cooked soul food, fried chicken, pasta and boxed lunches(alternatively pizza or subs could be purchased). They're open for delivery any time between noon and 4pm would be ideal but any time before 8pm works. If you can help cook or buy these meals please contact If you can help for just Sunday then wonderful, but they are also looking for help in an ongoing way.Contact Raven directly at 443-881-3647 or email at fightinjustice247@gmail.comif you are interested.

3) Soup for the Soul: Volunteers needed for food distribution on Tuesday May 12th at 6903 mornington road. Volunteers must arrive between 8:30am-9am, food giveaway is at noon.  Contact Stacy at 4437429160 if you are interested. 4) We are looking for anyone that has a ServSafe Certification. This certification will be useful for our an ongoing collaboration to prepare&distribute food to seniors, people without the ability to cook groceries, and those vulnerable in our community. This certification is a food and beverage safety and sanitation training required by most restaurants as a basic credential for management staff. If you or someone you know have one of these certification AND you are interested in this ongoing project please contact us here at abellcovid@gmail.com or Dre at frasera320@gmail.com. More details to follow!

We appreciate every single one of you and feel so grateful for our community's fighting spirit.
